What Are The Best Aerosmith Songs?

Aerosmith

Rock and roll has always been my passion. I have always felt that there are so many great rock and roll songs out there that are being overlooked or just plain forgotten. Many times I will see rock bands put out live albums and greatest hits, only to repeat the songs that got lots of play time to begin with. All great bands have their greatest hits. For Aerosmith it was Dream On and many others.

I sometimes wonder what it would be like if these amazing rock bands would allow panels of old rockers to get together and come up with their choice of greatest hits. Or maybe not greatest hits, but most overlooked or forgotten greatest hits. Well I am going to attempt to do this, right here, right now.

Seasons of Wither

Seasons of Wither was released in 1974 on the band's second album called Get Your Wings. This song should be a hit on the radio right now, as far as I am concerned. I listen to the radio quite a bit, but I'm not hearing too many songs of this caliber. Seasons of Wither has an absolutely haunting melody that Steven Tyler nails with his incredibly unique singing style. This an excellent bluesy, soulful, rock song. Seasons of Wither is an exceptionally clean and professionally played song. Listen to it on the right for the first time, or refresh your memory by listening to it again. I will get you started with the beginning lyrics as you listen to it.

Blues..hearted lady, sleepy was she...love...for the devil....brought her to me...tears... of a thousand, drawn to her sin...seasons... of wither, holding me in.

Three Mile Smile

Three Mile Smile is from Aerosmith's 1979, Night in the Ruts album. If Three Mile Smile doesn't get you rocking in your chair, I don't know what will. Hey, for all you younger generation out there, this is what rock and roll sounded like years ago. Enjoy.

Chiquita

Chiquita is another song from Aerosmith's sixth album, Night in the Ruts. Chiquita reminds me of their Draw The Line album. Chiquita starts out really sharp and is just different than the music we hear today. The song has a lot of fun changes and lyrics.

Get The Lead Out

Get The Lead Out is from Aerosmith's Rocks album from 1976. A very good year for rock and roll, by the way. Get The Lead Out is what rock and roll should sound like or what it used to sound like anyway. Especially, when it comes to the lyrics:

You like good boogie? Like the real boogie woogie? Hear the jukebox singing. Get the dance hall swinging. Won't you grab my shaker? Got to meet your maker.

Mia

Mia is yet another song from Aerosmith's Night In The Ruts album back in 1979. It's a really soulful, rock song that kind of builds and grows on you, all at the same time. I really hope you have enjoyed listening to some of these fantastic Aerosmith songs from the past, as much as I have. Leave me a comment below and let me know what your favorite and perhaps long forgotten Aerosmith song is from the past and I just might include it in my list here.
